https://www.brand-innovators.com/news/say-hello-to-the-mayoverse wrote:For those who think the metaverse is lacking in its egg and oil emulsions, Kraft has got the solution. The brand has introduced the “Mayoverse” a digital space where mayonnaise fans can indulge some of their wildest fantasies.

The Mayoverse features four mayonnaise-themed rooms where visitors can immerse themselves in a Mayo-themed world. In the Mayo House, for instance, fans can use a virtual hose to paint the entire house in the condiment. Other destinations include “Mayocean,” “Mayo Bash,” and “Mayobot.” To commemorate their visit, users can take selfie postcards and souvenirs from the destination’s gift shop.

Mayoverse elements were developed through an engagement campaign that asked fans to suggest their mayonnaise fantasies on social media and through out-of-home placements in Chicago and New York. Access to the Mayoverse can be granted through the brand’s KraftMayoverse.com website or by scanning QR codes on out-of-home postings.

“As the brand that champions loud and proud love of the controversial condiment, we get to witness our fans’ passionate love for mayonnaise, including some incredibly imaginative fantasies that take mayo freakdom to the next level,” said Frances Sabatier, brand manager of Kraft Real Mayo, in a statement. “Now, we’re thrilled to continue empowering our bold mayo freaks by bringing their fantasies to life in a unique and immersive setting.”

Google is silently inserting words into your google searches so the results come up with products from advertisers who pay google the most

Usually I dismiss most anecdotal complaints but Google's recent search changes have been pretty obvious, the one I noticed that I assumed was just me until I saw many academics complaining on Twitter too: searching exact words and phrases seems to no longer be allowed. Finding titles of things has ceased unless they're being sold somewhere.

This is the direct result of heavy lobbying by fairsearch who were big mad that googles 'monopoly' gave users the search results they wanted, not SEO optimised advertising sites, and they wouldn't let advertisers and middle men manipulate results or pay to manipulate results.

A few lawsuits later, and its "Thanks, Obama Google" that the government forced them to acquiesce I don't

Google Search is doing a lot of weird shit as of late. August had a significant core update, then september too and now October.
Every month they have this sort of very low budget "Google Search Direct" where a super creepy probably rapist tells you about what changed but barely explains anything at all.

The rest of the information you have to puzzle together from vague X posts or interviews with various Google employees.

There was also the HCU (helpful content update), and all these updates are absolutely hammering sites and putting random quora pages, Outlook India and reddit posts on top.  lol
They are wiping out all the SEO spam sites though but not the hacked domains that redirect you to pornos. It's weird.

They've also greatly reduced the volume of indexing. Deciding that on certain topics they simply have enough results and don't need more of the same content.
What used to be 'Optimized' is now 'Over-Optimized' even some big name SEO gurus are giving up. Take the FAQs for example, those are being removed from the results for anything but government information or medical topics.

Overall I expect a lot of businesses who aren't on top of this losing a ton of traffic. Because they no longer remove only pages that are low quality, they simply remove entire sites now. For the first time though, I'm sort of winning at SEO(?) because most companies follow the same guidebook that used to work and it doesn't work anymore and I thrive in chaos like this.

I can put it up a blog post on our company site and it will rank #1 within a day or 2. But I also spend a day or 2 this week to fix 250 broken URLs or wrongly indexed pages. Imagine having to do that for a company the size of Nike or Microsoft. This update is absolute madness.

Seeing that your site is cratering is also more difficult than ever with Google Analytics 4, which mixes 'expected traffic' with actual results. So you can look at your results today and see 200 visitors and find out next month it was actually 2.
