The Linguini Incident sure is some kinda fuckass movie. I think I found myself more-charmed-than-not, in spite of how kind of shit it is?

Just a weird random movie with David Bowie in a very strange role. Rosanna Arquette is hot in this movie. Now that I think about it, that might've been the tiebreaker for me.

This has so many hallmarks of a complete cluster fuck:
  • Questionable casting
  • Questionable design choices
  • A director passion project in an unfamiliar genre with a huge budget
  • An "impossible" adaptation

I genuinely hope it's good, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's not.

It’s got this reverse Baz Luhrmann Romeo+Juliet thing going on where the aesthetics are pseudo historical but they talk like they’re from Staten Island. The choice to use “dad” in place of “father” is awkward.

Yeah, that line just stood out like dog's balls for me. It was pretty embarrassing.

I kind of expect it to be a good Nolan movie but terrible as an adaption of the Odyssey. Will have to turn my brain off and just see it as it's own thing.

I'm only watching it to take a shot every time someone addresses Odysseus as wily

Just watched the Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition doco.

Definitely one for the fans, but not much for anyone else.

I saw them live once. I was bored out of my tits, but I only went cos one of my mate’s was a huge Maiden fan. My main problem with them was they were too professional. Everything they did was super clean and really well recorded. I was into scuzzy, fucked up stuff like the Butthole Surfers and Napalm Death. My mate was in Maiden heaven though. He had the best time.

I can see that problem if you're not a fan.

I enjoyed Mortal Kombat 2 well enough. Of the current wave of videogame movies, I think this one is the best.

Johnny Cage and Kano should have a buddy comedy film to their own.

I read that they did the reverse of the old Mortal Kombat 2 movie.

Spoiler:  (click to show)
where in that they kill Johnny Cage at the start. Here they kill the new main guy from the first movie to make Johnny Cage the lead.

Yeah, they killed off the OC protagonist from the first movie by having Shao Kahn smash his face in with his war hammer and then using the hammer like a broom to sweep his body into the acid pool stage fatality. It was hilarious.

Watched Sonic 3.

These movies continue to be way better than they have any right to be.

Zootopia 2

Watched it on a flight and, how best to put this… online brain rot primes you to expected unique takes about children cartoons. And after landing, one of the first I read was “Zootopia 2 is about the Rothschilds and the greater israel project and I’m going to jerk off to the cartoon rabbit.”

I give them props for lasering the moon in half. They're more than happy to escalate things to a similar degree as the games

Yup I like the combination of existential threats and Sonic just being a retarded teenager with his shitty friends.

The world is just stuck in between the madness.
