GameStop also had a policy to unseal them all so they could take the discs out and put in their disc drawer. Even the copies kept in the locked case behind the counter.

This was partly so employees could "check out" the new copies.

I once got a GameStop employee to exclaim "shit!" because he had tried to hide the box for a used copy of Zone of the Enders and I saw it and bought it.  

He outright told the guy checking me out that he was trying to hide it so he could buy it at the end of the day.  

My favorite was one time I got a used Xbox and so went to GameStop and bought for $1 one of each of the two-games-on-one-disc (like Sega GT and JSRF on one disc) copies they technically were not supposed to be reselling that were originally console pack-ins. There were like ten or more of these and the employee as he was checking me out gave me his thoughts on each and every game. Took like ten minutes to check out because of this.

I mean, if that don't get your capillaries pumping, what do. Personally, for me, Marathon is easily my game of the year (GOTY) and it dont look like anything upcoming will shift it this year. I've had an absolute blast playing my way through season 1 and I haven't experienced any long que times or cheaters at all. I think these are just bad actores who claim they do have done.

In addition, I think the "sponsored kit" playlist was a big mistake. If these PvE weirdos want Fortnite or any other BR game, go play those. Maraton is all about earning the best possible gear and then using it instead of hoarding it in the vault like some D2 admirer. I told Bungie so in the survey they sent ingame last night.

Also the player should die during the first on-boarding tutorial mission to better teach them.

ERA sane user have made the point to  differentiate between AIs. So most of those “exceptions” are AI stuff that has been the norm for years but companies have mix with GenAI to try to pass out to investors and public.  

Doesn’t mean we are not going to see more studios adopting this… but the backlash against it is not minimizing, for better or worse.
