Netflix cracked down on password sharing, so I just said, I'd buy an extra seat--the family sharing garbage they instituted a few years ago.

However, she calls saying she's signed out of Netflix. I did some troubleshooting during Thanksgiving, which she hosted, and then some Googling. So, let me get this straight, Netflix cracked down on password sharing. OK. But they added an option of adding another member, but that member has to be your physical household? WTF? This makes no sense at all.

I guess my account didn't have this flag setup until recently since I never had issue. Guess they caught to me.

However, this is completely different from family sharing plans I used with other services. I share stuff with my brother, he's also another physical household but those services don't care--it's a family plan.

I am correct or missing something? I just find this super anti-consumer if true. I've never seen family plan services be so snoopy.

Serious post. I had this same message last night on my iPad. I regular take it with me across America and Japan. You need a code every 14 days or something. Or to connect to your “primarily” household once a month. 

Between it and Amazon introducing ads, the whole convenience aspect of streaming gets muddled. Piracy becomes attractive again. And not just for the mutual jack off with an AI animu lady pop up ads.

A quick check tells me Vladimir Putin's got an approval rating of 89% and approval of military action in Ukraine is 78% in Russia. I wouldn't be too surprised if those numbers are doctored, but I do think it illustrates the point that I also don't really have any reason to believe that the civilians who would be inconvenienced by Steam pulling out of Russia wouldn't primarily be supporters of the Ukraine war.
