1. Trump cannot run again.
2. Kamala had to drop out of the 2020 Democratic race before any voting started because of lack of support among the only party she's ever been part of. This is why they couldn't open the race up in 2024.
3. She's currently cratering against Newsom, which is frankly remarkable. This far out the "default" candidate aka the one who ran last time rarely ever falls out of the lead. 2008 was because everyone was waiting for Hillary and Kerry was never anyone's actual choice.

I think she easily could have. If she had said that the Biden administration had made some mistakes and then mushmouthed the trans prison surgeries thing she probably would have won. Instead she said Biden had made no mistakes and she supported everything they'd done.

But she is pretty blatantly wrong about closest election of the 21st century, it's like she doesn't know about how to do a simple square weight equation for both the electoral and popular vote.

I think everyone can agree Biden should’ve committed to being a one term president and allowed the dems to run a primary. He can do campaign events, rallies and everything in between. He just can't be on the ballot but he doesn't really have to be to "run".
Vance or whoever it is keeps the "winners" (i.e. the cabinet) in place, Trump gets a place in the administration, maybe Vice President and all that changes is the guy that signs the bills and executive orders. 

By the time this term ends there is going to be a lot of money and business interests at stake thanks to all the deals and buying of company shares as well as how the AI bubble has been built. In 2028 the money trucks will pull up to the RNC, who is going to fund the Democratic campaign?
