I wasn't born yesterday. Y'all know what you're doing. You have to know, otherwise the reflexive defensiveness against charges of racism don't really make sense. The claim that ignorance is the primary motivator that begets racism contradicts with the aggressive downplaying and dismissal that happens whenever racism is unveiled in an individual instance. Usually when people don't know something, and they have good intentions, they defer authority to those who actually know better. You wouldn't make a false claim about, like, the biology of lions, get corrected by an expert in the field, and then go and tell said expert that they're wrong, right? Of course not.
