So are some of you guys actually accusing Nepenthe of using an alt account or what? I feel like some people are trying to skirt around possible mod actions by being vague as fuck and only implying things, but all that does is muddy the conversation even more and make people more suspicious and poised to misinterpret each other in an already pretty intense thread.

The last couple of pages in here have been a mess, and most of it stems from people from all sides being needlessly hostile and accusatory of each other. We are all adults here, so stop it with both name calling and vague insinuations.

They've suggested in the past that B-Dubs title doesn't mean he has absolute power, that the designated admins (and possibly others) form a Politburo and the General Manager is just first among equals. Mod Captains work the same way. Cerium had power because he was also the owner, B-Dubs has nothing so his only power is personal power. We've also seen indications that his position is because he may be the only one on the staff who actually seems to take the role seriously, nobody else wants that kind of responsibility. Additionally so because look at how others like Fat4all relentlessly target B-Dubs as if he is solely responsible for everything on the forum that a woman might dislike.

The importance of representation on the staff isn't just because that's all their fetish, it's because that represents the power of the different blocs of the forum. TransEra needs more staff members so that they can have the safety of knowing they can dominate the Politburo's decision making. Nepenthe represents multiple blocs but also being Black means that the other Blacks don't seek actual representation. AliceAmber is an admin because she's a cis woman who's also a sex worker. Hecht is some kind of Beria blackmail/pervert figure. Again, the Mod Captains represent the blocs as well, Hecht (not that I read all of that shit, no not even me) said as much since there's literally no reason for them to exist unless this is true. This is why the staff also have to "discuss" everything so the blocs aren't left out of decision making. The need for the staff to do deep research of every topic to define the correct line is the same thing, if the blocs conflict you would have escalated conflict among the prominent members who are bloc members through the Discords.

All of this also displays in the way they talk about the staff and the staff defend itself, i.e. like cops, they're defending the institution while trying to throw each other under the bus and sacrifice them to appease the forum blocs. Almost all the language they use about the staff/moderation always talks about it as this disembodied thing that nobody personally is responsible for, the lie ABSOLUTE TRUTH about the "at least three members must sign off on all bans" is part of preserving this for the individual members. Presumably they can go back to their blocs on Discord and say they were outvoted. This is common in not just collectivist states but actual democracies as well, people seem to just accept that authority figures in institutions are not actual people but instead merely humans who inhabit actual entities that have their own interests. Ready excuses are made to absolve them for their decisions. But this is also necessary because the individuals don't actually have much power, the real power is in the alignment of the blocs. In opaque systems like the Soviets/CCP, and apparently video game forums, the individuals only have the power they can obtain from the blocs and managing the blocs is the actual main priority of everything.

Went to an anime and gaming rave. Met up with some cool dudes and they took me to a club open later and soon enough I was all by myself.
