A deal with Hitler depends on when you make the deal and what the terms are. 

Considering Hitler broke his deals with both Chamberlain and Stalin, I'd argue any other deal would have been foolish. In fact, making such desperate deals implies weakness and invites aggression.

Some kind of deal with the Germans in '44 that would've spared western Germany, Italy, Hungary and the low countries from further destruction as well as spared the lives of many Allied soldiers might've not been a bad thing. In fact some on both the Allied and German side expected it to happen as the Wehrmacht high tailed out of France and it might've happened if Operation Market Garden was successful. If the retreating Germans had been successfully cut off, they would've likely left their heavy weapons and fuel stocks behind and fled from Holland into Germany on foot. For Allied soldiers in West Germany the final months of the war were a gruesome slog through minefields, fortified towns and villages defended by fanatical SS battalions and East Front veterans because 'unconditional surrender' was never going to happen as the Russians rampaged in the East.

Anyway, UK Reform has overtaken the Conservative Party. Nigel is calling on all conservatives to jump ship, which would put him in a dead heat with Labour.
