I'm far more in favor of the idea that porn desensitizes you to what you personally find acceptable absent any actual experience. That tracks with many other things in life, especially at high levels of usage. The reason it seems "weird" with porn is because it's an abstraction rather than a real experience. (Shame from acknowledging being a voyeur then rather than a participant?)
There's that and a lot of these people are just straight up sexually dysfunctional. I reckon Kyuuji is probably this sort. Porn becomes a crutch because they're traumatised by their inability to fuck a smile on someone's face. Then there is much pondering and soul searching for why, when the answer is most likely the mad cocktail of crazy drugs they're all taking all the time.
