I never respected Scott Adams, but the main thing that told me I never could was his belief that affirmations work. You would think I could just direct him to the endless number of tweets like this. Now the thing about Scott is that he has a giant elaborate theory for why these kinds of affirmations won't work, and at some level I do have to respect that:
