Meanwhile real women seem much more chill about it. Not saying that they don't want female characters but they don't lose their mind if the series happens to switch characters around. Generally it's funny to watch female streamers and notice how they can be pretty critical of female characters. And not in a "oh no she lacks agency" way but in a "she's kind of a bitch" way
There's a high probability that trans people self-insert and feel disconnected if they cannot imagine they're playing as themselves and they're experiencing the events. Hence the obsession with the character creators. The trans women on Era are desperate to avoid anything that they feel is male-coded. Self-inserting as a male character is male-coded. The paranoia about how every form of media is going to eliminate women is a reflection of this, not a belief about the supposed opposing ideology, because they believe most people self-insert like themselves and that the "powers that be" are therefore desperate to impose masculinity on everyone.

Their zero-sum conception of gender along with this is why if you play as a female character you must be an egg. Why would a MAN ever do anything GIRLY unless he really was a GIRL (or worse a HOMOSEXUAL MAN WHICH IS GAY)? Everyone is going to make fun of him for it! Girlslaff  He should show them by just being a girl, which is sexier and cooler anyway because men suck. (And people always have expectations for them, unlike women who manipulate everyone and do whatever they want while being totally sexy.)
