I don't think China should invade Taiwan but they also have far more justification to than the current US strikes in latin america, and almost any US war for the past several decades.

I think a lot of folks don't understand how Taiwan came to be. It would be like during the American civil war the confederates lost but they and the rest of the world decided they get florida. (it's more complicated than that but I think a lot of folks just haven't read its history, I encourage them to).

Again, I think it's been too long to care or provide real justification for it because war should be avoided at all costs, but there are people alive in China that remember when Taiwan was part of China.

If the CCP could have got across the sea they would have Taiwan already. That's why Taiwan is still an issue, because now they could get across the sea. At some point you have to give up on your claims that involve other people, like how North Korea continues to claim the entire peninsula is theirs even though nobody but them agrees to this. Would you say France or Spain has a claim to the island of Hispaniola? Of course not. China has no claim to Formosa.

The U.S. has no valid claim to attack Venezuela, or anywhere else, but an attack to the regime there (or Iraq) followed by handing the country back over to the people is a far more valid claim than the CCP's desire to destroy a democracy because it irritates them.
