are ICE just doing whatever they want somewhere else while the protests are just kind of vaguely happening in specific public areas?
For the last 3 days most people just walk down to the federal buildings area. From there there's some black lives matter groups and other organizations that support Latinos etc. Yesterday, for example was slightly more structured. The police followed behind the groups to make sure nobody would ram into us and they could keep an eye on us. Lol. They blocked off access to the 101 the last two days. It seems as though they're trying to let people blow off some steam as long as they don't shut down major highways.
Yesterday we assembled at the city hall and the speakers were even reminding people to stay off the road and stay on the sidewalk. But when we went to march the police allowed us. As long as we didn't go on the highway.
And the police have put up tape around areas they don't want us to go. Federal buildings highways. The mood was keep it peaceful but keep coming back everyday and let everyone know what's going on. I'm not part of any particular group. I just come down to show my support and add to the numbers.
There's tons of graffiti now and some smash windows and people are boarding up certain businesses. Yesterday we marched around and through Chinatown etc. As far as I know when we pass by some of the business owners looked a bit concerned and pulled their stuff inside. But most store owners just watched us pass holding their cell phones recording us go by.
