Inviting rich dudes to public events does not make anything "state-run" and it's absurd to believe that's the case. It's especially absurd because "state-run" social media would not be able to ban anyone so the American state is not going to try and run them for this very reason. That's why the Biden Admin just leaned on Facebook and Twitter to ban people for questioning COVID policies rather than try to run the things.
Another way it's absurd is that you cannot even explain to me what you think this means. What would "state-run" Instagram or Twitter even look like? You think Zuck and Elon are going to destroy their ad revenue and the platforms themselves by banning any criticism of the American government? Come on. Elon himself spends practically everyday bitching about the government.
