Yes. That's exactly why they're doing it.

They all trust the veracity of their numbers internally just as well as they would with anyone else's numbers. But they want the public to doubt them so they can believe there isn't a genocide and that thousands of children haven't been indiscriminately slaughtered by "the good guys".
