It's best to understand there are two types of propaganda "shock value" and " comfort/guard down" style, this is the second. People respond to different types differently where someone might avoid the shockvalue kind and find it disgusting or hard to believe and blunt seeing messaging tied to simpler things can work to grab attention and slowly ease in.

Gonna be real, modern social media is structured around creating controversy at every turn and we're surprised that any and all discourse turns into controversy at the drop of a hat? The algorithms are specifically designed to keep you on your feed, to make you comment on stuff, and the easiest way to do that is to get you mad, whether or not that anger is justified, so that you feel the need to comment. All these platforms do it and that behavior then seeped into the rest of the internet over the years, seeped into our actual societal discourse, and now everything is controversial even when it shouldn't be. Nobody can have a reasonable take these days, and, if you do, people will read into it and assume you are making some insane take, assign your take meaning it never had, and attack you as if you had made the take you didn't instead of the one you did.

This from a guy whose forum bans people for posting scientific and historical facts, questioning astrology and opposing the doctrines of Islam. Along with banned an entire media franchise because the original author upset some men with her social media posts. All while constantly blaming the non-staff for everything, attacking them and refusing to talk to them.  

Not to mention how the forum has been this way for nearly eight years, if social media has cooked "society" as represented by Era posters it did it probably over a decade ago. Especially when it comes to many of these members who have always acted this way, Crossing Eden for example.
