It's frustrating to see so many people in this thread go "probably no dev kits", when we KNOW that all the major publishers (Bandai Namco, Capcom, Square Enix, Konami, Sega) had them for a long time, hence why they already announced some games. The issue is why they won't announce NEW games for Switch 2 when they're announcing them for all the other systems. And with some rare exceptions (the new Digimon-game MIGHT be a held-back announcement after all), these are just non-sensical, anti-business decisions from these publishers. And just to preempt this: NOBODY ever said "we're making enough money, we're good" when it'd be so easy to just put most of these games on Switch 2. The Hero Academia-game is especially baffeling, considering the first game sold best on Switch 1.

The Switch 2 is a proven system, we shouldn't have to wait 2-3 years before 3rd-parties get proper support going. From a personal pov, I don't care, I'll buy my games elsewhere and most of these 3rd-party games don't interest me anyway. From a sales-age pov, however, it's frustrating how higher-ups allow their personal bias to sabotage a market that could truly flourish. Imagine being a Japanese kid, loving the My Hero Academia-anime, and not being able to play it on THE go-to-system. That's just bs. Japanese 3rd-parties are currently trying their hardest to lose the 2nd generation of young Japanese gamers in a row, another generation that will grow up knowing only the games that are available on Switch 2. You'd think that'd make them want to put their games on that system.

Haven't been paying attention to this much, even though he's not guilty(outside of the prostitution) it seems everything here expected him to be found guilty of everything? Was the evidence against him that glaring or is this a case of ERA just not liking him(understandable)?

Would prefer if someone who actually followed the trial closely respond to this.

Prosecution dropped the ball in my opinion. For as high profile of a person as Diddy, you don't condemn someone like him with a few contested incidents, and 2 ex-girlfriends who kept repeating they loved him and had tons of compromising texts.

Apart of these trials is the jury selection and the prosecution failed in that aspect when making the selections considering the majority of the jury were men.

The Me Too movement I would argue made things more difficult for women and in many instances has caused a very toxic defensive reaction from men. People are stupid and in cases like this they need a mountain of evidence and witnesses to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Especially in a high-profile case such as this, If you leave any room for doubt, it'll benefit the celebrity.

I watched the videos, it looks like a children's game. Is everybody disagreeing with me, that this is a game aimed at adults or even "all ages" like a Mario game? Honestly the game is fine if you dress Eve accordingly. He base outfit looks like something a Sonic character would wear and you'll see nothing you wouldn't see in a Bayonetta cutscene - I think the swimsuit stuff and scantily clad outfits are terrible but if you stay away from them it's comparable to other games if you ask me.

Bayonetta is really the perfect point of comparison for this game.

We're going through the same cycle all over again. In 2009, all of the Smartest People In The Room were loudly proclaiming how that game was irredeemably sexist trash (and trawling Hideki Kamiya's twitter for problematic posts as supporting evidence). I'm very much looking forward to the "Stellar Blade Is Actually A Camp Masterpiece" takes in 5 years or so.

Anyway. The game is great, a solid 7 out of 10 character action-style hack-n-slash. This is a well-deserved success for ShiftUp.

Then you are in trouble. That is not being confused, that is making a verifiably false claim and a pair of deeply inflammatory accusations.

The reason we keep harping on the fact that the quote is in the first paragraph is because the second instance is where most people went with their posting. If everything was like the first example, we wouldn't give a crap and would just leave it alone. It's when everyone went to the deeply inflammatory and accusatory place that we have to step in.

You can argue that the paragraph everyone cited was confusing, that's ok, but when you let it take you to a place where you actively accuse people of lying and faking quotes, that isn't ok and we do need to do something.

In fact, one of the users who was banned has a history of misreading posts from other users, immediately jumping to 11, and attacking them. We've banned them for it previously.

Once again, if you are just confused about something you read you have absolutely nothing to fear. However, if you are running around acting like an inflammatory mess and making all sorts of crazy accusations, you are probably going to get banned. If you feel like you fell into the first one and not the second, feel free to send in a ticket and we will review it.

As multiple people have noted, their "warning" can also be read as a backhanded agreement with the accusation the user was making. Many people saw that it can be read that way and have pointed this out.

At this point, you might say "Yes, but you're jumping to the worst possible interpretation of that post." To which we would say, "That is because we literally threadbanned this user for similar behavior in a previous incarnation of this very thread."

This wasn't the first time they pulled that backhanded insult nonsense.. This wasn't an out of the blue thing, it is a pattern of behavior with them. Just because people are pissed at us doesn't mean we are going to be letting users with a history of sniping attack us like that. Other people's anger is not your cover.

This thread is supposed to be for discussion, not for users flinging insults, both veiled and open, at us. If you look back through, you can literally see me talking to people about things and discussing issues. That does happen. Heck, we even admit when we are wrong. Despite what people say, that does happen. The issues occur when people decide to start throwing out attacks and expect us to just take it.

There are literally users in here right now that basically only ever show up when they want to take pot shots at me personally. There is a user that seemingly only came in here to justify users platforming and attacking me based on social media posts from someone we banned two years ago that still seems to be obsessed with and cyberstalking me.

I am also not the only victim of all this. A few weeks ago it happened to another member of staff as well. There are multiple members of staff who have straight up said to me that they don't engage in political discussion on this forum anymore because it will just lead to them getting attacked, dogpiled, and accused of bigotry. Which literally happened to me last week when I tried telling people to stop looking for a deeper explanation in someone saying something bigoted, apparently that, believing that a bigot said something just to be a bigot, also makes me a bigot.

I'm staff on another site that does this (names on pretty much every decision), and while the focus of "mod accountability"  has had some growing pains and definitely isn't perfect (users getting too comfortable harassing the team in the name of accountability, which we've found a better balance on policy-wise), specific witch-hunting for a single mod has never been an issue because we made that actionable. It's not like mod accountability and transparency needs to have zero protections for staff.

The core principle of the signatures there should be no issue where the mods who made the decision wouldn't stand by it/explain it publicly. I think seeing the names just honestly also goes a long way toward reminding that the mod team still feel like part of the community - like these are people you see around the forum.

And y'know, replying in the thread wouldn't hurt with regards to that either. Lots of times silence just causes people to read into decisions and assume more malicious intent then there actually was, because it causes the team to feel distant. Staff being more engaged in this thread would go a long way even if there's disagreements.

We have, in the past, put the names of the staff members who issued warnings and bans in the user message. What wound up happening is that users proceeded to target and harass said members of staff despite the fact that this was also blatantly bannable behavior. We managed to drive it off the site, but the harassment would continue on platforms like discord and twitter (and now bluesky, though they generally make up who did what now). Hence, us deciding to make the names of any staff members involved private. Despite this, the harassment and insane accusations continue. For example, whenever Sony warriors get banned they will go to their discord and complain about Judge or Ghostcrew, despite the fact that neither of them would have anything to do with said bans. Doesn't matter, they still wind up getting harassed for it. It's the same with the Xbox warriors thinking Transistor banned them, when half the time he's not even involved! Shit, I once got accused of taking bribes from Microsoft to change how we moderated Era!

Shoot, at multiple points in the past people had tried to use Ceri's childhood trauma against him in these exact sorts of situations.

This is also why I am the only one replying to any of you, I'd rather be the target of harassment than see any other members of staff go through it. One of the things I learned over the years is that it's better if I make the staff posts when possible because if there's a bad reaction the heat doesn't wind up on the mods who actually made the decision and helped write it. That's a big part of why you see me here right now, so you don't wind up shitting on everyone else and driving people off. The annoying part is this leads to the aforementioned harassment on platforms like discord and bluesky.

So, yes, we tried that, but found that, even with the action you are talking about being bannable, that people still wound up getting harassed and targeted and brigaded.
