it's an insane thing to suggest that nintendo should have had the foresight that donald trump would get reelected and then also begin a world trade war unseen in modern times.

blame 'em for the high price of mario kart world. blame 'em for hiding chat behind a paywall. blame 'em for making welcome tour the weird thing it is. but you can't blame 'em for something no one saw coming when they would have started work on this thing in 2021-2022 or whatever. without trump, i think you could make a case that if switch 2's sales are lower than switch 1's, it's partly because they spent too much time in switch 1-land. but you can't seriously argue that their waiting and being affected by tariffs no one expected in the early 2020s is on them.
