I actually don’t post anywhere else, Twitter and other shite included. Still lurk in a few spots. I’ll stop altogether when people stop being weird and interestingly mental.

This place feels like a purgatory for geriatrics who haven’t yet transitioned from old internet to new internet. I’m reasonably convinced users posting here are real people. That includes our Vietnamese coupon barons.

I don't feel like these things happen as a discrete decision, you just fall away eventually like for everything else
like you're playing some game or watching a youtube channel or reading some long-running blog or webcomic, and then one day you realize you haven't gone there in months and you don't really care 1 user liked this post: who is ted danson?

Staff at The Bire is hard at work on technology that will ensure you continue posting and liking posts long after your body and mind has expired. Indeed, we at The Bire see this thing called "life" as an unfortunate burden that limits your capacity to post and like.

An underrated aspect of forums of the golden age (and I include the design of this one to some degree) is they were a brilliant way to learn about a topic because of the linear nature of the conversation.

I think it’s more reasonable to argue that anyone willingly posting on an old and dusty format like an internet message board two thousand and twenty six years after the birth of christ can be expected to continue doing so for as long as there remains one internet message board left to post on.

I'm very aware I'm a dinosaur and the meteor could show up at any moment. For me, reddit mostly sucks outside of very specific subreddits and communities. For gaming things, REEE and GAF are both FUBAR for various reasons. I'm too old for discord. I just need a decent place to laugh at stupid, self-important people and get gaming news. The Bore was pretty much the last bastion for me. I've mostly transitioned into a grass toucher now but I like to come back once in a while. 3 users liked this post: Polident, who is ted danson?, filler
